Sand Mafia in Ranchi Threatens Rivals, Releases Video with Gunfire and Death Threats

A criminal gang in Ranchi, Jharkhand, has released a threatening video amid ongoing conflicts over control of sand extraction operations. The video, which was shared on social media, shows a man identified as Bhavani Singh, a member of the gang. He is seen openly threatening members of a rival gang with violence and firing a weapon. The situation is particularly tense in the Budhmu area, specifically at the Chhapar Ghat, where the gangs are vying for control. The video includes graphic threats, including a warning that those who don’t comply will be killed. The police have acknowledged the video. Ranchi SSP cum DIG Chanda Kumar Sinha stated that the police have identified the criminal and appropriate action will be taken. Previously, in 2024, the gangs clashed, resulting in arson that destroyed several vehicles.
