Deputy Commissioner Kanchan Singh presided over a significant District Road Safety Committee meeting in Simdega, aiming to enhance safety measures across the region. The committee reviewed a concerning rise in road accidents, with 104 incidents reported between January and September 2025. August saw 7 accidents, followed by 6 in September. Tragically, the cumulative death toll for this period reached 94, with four individuals losing their lives in both August and September. In response to recommendations for accident prevention, the tendering process for vital bridge construction on National Highway 23, specifically at Pandripani and Arani, has concluded, paving the way for construction. Efforts are also being made to repair damaged road flanks caused by recent rainfall. Additionally, the Road Construction Department has strategically placed speed breakers at various points to curb excessive speeding.
