Jamshedpur is grappling with a significant surge in stray animals, prompting calls for urgent intervention from the Anti Corruption Foundation of World. A delegation, headed by state General Secretary Shashi Acharya, formally submitted a plea to Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyrathi, highlighting the growing public safety risks. The memorandum detailed how stray dogs, bulls, and cattle have made urban thoroughfares and neighborhoods hazardous. There have been alarming reports of wild bull attacks leaving women injured, and frequent dog bite incidents are creating widespread apprehension. The foundation is pressing the administration to implement robust strategies for managing and housing these stray animals. Key demands include accelerating the development of permanent animal shelters, restarting effective sterilization drives for stray dogs, and relocating them from busy public spaces to designated areas. They stress that the administration must take immediate and firm steps to safeguard citizens and curb the frequency of animal-related incidents. Failure to act swiftly on these critical issues will lead to protests, with the administration bearing the consequences of inaction.
