An alarming fire incident took place near the outer gate of Tatanagar Railway Station on Saturday, as a parked car erupted in flames. The fire spread with incredible speed, consuming the vehicle within minutes. Those present tried to douse the flames, but the intensity of the blaze prompted them to contact emergency services immediately. The good news is that no one was harmed during this unsettling occurrence. The vehicle’s owner, identified as Srinivas Nayak from Gamharia, was at the station with his wife and son to bid farewell to his son boarding the Duronto Express. He had parked his Hyundai car close to the station’s exit and went towards the platform. Subsequently, smoke was seen billowing from the car, quickly escalating into large flames. Passersby attempted to combat the fire using water from buckets, but it proved futile as the fire rapidly consumed the car. Fire services were dispatched to the scene and worked diligently to extinguish the fire. Mr. Nayak indicated he was informed about the fire by someone inside the station. He found his car entirely gutted upon arrival. He believes a possible short circuit triggered the fire, but official confirmation is pending further investigation into the exact cause.
