Three people sustained injuries following a forceful head-on collision between two cars near Jail Chowk in the Sakchi police station jurisdiction on Thursday afternoon. The accident happened as a resident, accompanied by his wife, was proceeding towards Jail Chowk from Old Court Road. At that precise moment, a speeding Tata Tiago with Bengal registration plates approached from the opposite direction and crashed directly into their car. Among those injured were the wife of one driver, and a female passenger and a male passenger in the other car. With the help of nearby individuals, the injured woman and youth were taken to Tata Main Hospital for treatment. Upon receiving notification, the Sakchi police team arrived at the crash site, removed the wrecked vehicles to clear the road for traffic, and commenced their inquiry. The driver involved stated that his wife and he were en route to the market when the fast-moving car collided with them, crediting the airbags for their survival.
