A significant encounter unfolded in the forests of Gumla district, Jharkhand, leading to the death of three Naxalites. Among the casualties were two sub-zonal commanders, identified as Lalu Lohar and Chhotu Uraon, each carrying a reward of ₹5 lakh from the Jharkhand government. The third Naxalite killed was Sujit Uraon, who was active in the organization as a cadre. The encounter occurred in the Bishunpur police station area. According to police, the extremists were planning to execute a major criminal incident. The security forces responded to the Naxalites’ firing, resulting in the elimination of the three extremists. The authorities recovered three weapons from the scene, including an AK-47 rifle. A thorough search operation is currently underway to apprehend any other possible extremists in the area and ensure the safety of the region.
