A significant push is underway to improve the accuracy and ease of electoral processes through comprehensive voter list mapping. Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar has emphasized the need for officials to prioritize the mapping of the current voter register with the 2003 electoral rolls as part of preparations for the intensive revision program. This parent-child mapping approach is designed to make enumeration forms easier for voters to complete. The instructions were communicated during a virtual meeting with district-level Deputy Electoral Officers. The Chief Electoral Officer stressed that electoral work demands utmost diligence, warning that any dereliction of duty by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will result in their suspension and prompt replacement. Compliance with assigned election responsibilities is non-negotiable for all officials. The review session included a detailed assessment of voter list mapping status in all districts. On-site challenges were identified, and targeted directives were issued to overcome them. A key directive involves field visits by officials to observe mapping problems firsthand and implement rapid solutions to accelerate progress. Additionally, a presentation outlining the rationalization strategy for polling stations was shared, offering valuable information to the assembled officers.
