Following administrative action, the Singhbhum Sports Association ground in West Singhbhum (Chaibasa) has been unsealed, allowing players to resume their training. The ground was closed on Tuesday under the direction of Deputy Commissioner Chandan Kumar, who cited the National Sports Development Code of India 2011 as the basis for revoking the ground’s recognitions and sealing it. The closure was implemented by a team of officials. When players arrived for practice on Wednesday, they found the ground sealed, which led to expressions of frustration due to the absence of alternative training facilities. The players also highlighted the impact on their preparations for the Home Guard recruitment. The situation was brought to the attention of Mithilesh Kumar Thakur, General Secretary of the Singhbhum Sports Association and former MLA, who subsequently intervened by communicating with the relevant authorities. After his intervention, the Deputy Commissioner ordered the ground to be reopened. A meeting is scheduled for June 14 to address all related matters concerning the ground.
