Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami assessed the preparations for the Kanwar Yatra in Haridwar, noting the significant enthusiasm among the devotees. The Chief Minister interacted with reporters, sharing that pilgrims have expressed satisfaction with the current arrangements. He offered prayers for the safety of all participants in the yatra. Furthermore, CM Dhami laid the foundation for a 251-foot saffron flag on the Ganga’s banks. The annual Kanwar Yatra sees thousands of pilgrims gathering holy water from the Ganga at Har Ki Pauri. Dhami described the Kanwar Mela as a celebration, extending an invitation to all Shiva devotees and affirming the government’s dedication to ensuring a divine experience. He also reported that over a crore devotees have collected Ganga water during this pilgrimage. The Kanwar Yatra, which started on July 10, is a religious observance where devotees gather holy water and carry it to Lord Shiva temples, engaging in fasting and rituals as a demonstration of devotion.
