Mumbai Police have engaged with comedian Kapil Sharma concerning a threat and the shooting at his Canadian cafe. Though no formal complaint has been lodged by Sharma, the police have started an investigation. Sharma has clarified to the police that he hasn’t received any direct threats from any gang members. The recent events unfolded after a shooting at his ‘Caps Cafe’ in Canada. Kapil Sharma had previously notified the Mumbai Police regarding that incident as well, stating that he was not threatened. This is the second instance, prompting the Crime Branch to contact Sharma, viewing the matter with seriousness. Sharma has maintained to the police that he hasn’t been directly threatened. The police are currently reviewing the Call Detail Record (CDR) and Internet Protocol Detail Record (IPDR) of Sharma, aimed at preventing any possible criminal plot. Furthermore, the police are considering whether to provide official police protection to Sharma. The Crime Branch is exploring all angles of the situation to preempt any potential dangers. In light of the cafe shooting and the subsequent threat, the police are working on an alert status. The police and intelligence services are remaining cautious and are not dismissing any potential links or threats. Despite no direct complaint from Sharma, security measures are being implemented.
