With 239 Rajya Sabha MPs and 542 Lok Sabha MPs eligible to vote, the NDA’s candidate CP Radhakrishnan, the Maharashtra Governor, is considered the frontrunner. However, the Biju Janata Dal and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi have declared they will abstain from voting. This reduces the effective voting pool, with the majority mark set at 386 votes. The NDA currently has the support of 427 MPs, bolstered by backing from YSR Congress, further solidifying its position. The election outcome hinges on the support garnered from various political factions.
