A search operation in Kulgam on Monday resulted in an exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists, leading to the death of one militant. The operation is part of an ongoing effort to eradicate terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. The encounter took place in the Guddar forest area. A JCO from the army was reportedly injured during the encounter. He was approaching a suspected hideout when he came under fire. The exact number of terrorists present is still under investigation.
