An FIR has been filed against seven individuals believed to be MNS members after they allegedly assaulted a sweet shop owner in Mira Bhayander. The dispute arose because the shop owner spoke Hindi instead of Marathi. The assault was captured on video, which quickly spread across social media platforms. The footage depicts an initial argument followed by one man physically attacking the shop owner, and another wearing an MNS stole repeatedly hitting him. Babulal Khimji Chaudhary, the shop owner, reported that the men, who were displaying MNS symbols, demanded that he and his employees speak Marathi. He stated that his workers were not fluent in the language, leading to the altercation. This incident highlights growing tensions over language in Maharashtra.
