Raipur. Union Minister of Steel and Industry in-charge HD Kumar Swamy reached Jagdalpur from Chennai on Monday by a special plane on a one-day visit to Chhattisgarh. HD Kumar Swamy inspected the Nagarnar Plant. He discussed various issues related to the NMDC Plant with senior NMDC officials. He said that the Nagarnar Steel Plant will not be privatized. The government is not thinking about privatization but is thinking about how to make the Nagarnar Steel Plant stronger. He has come to inspect the Nagarnar Plant and explain the work so that an action plan is prepared in this direction.

Disinvestment continues: Former MLA Rekhachand Jain

Meanwhile, political activities have intensified in Bastar regarding the Nagarnar Steel Plant. During the visit of the Union Steel and Industry Minister to Bastar, he gave a statement to the media that the Nagarnar plant will not be privatized. On this statement, former MLA Rekhachand Jain said that there is a difference between the actions and words of the BJP. He cited the promises made by the Prime Minister and the Home Minister during their visit to Bastar, in which it was said that the Nagarnar Steel Plant belongs to the people of Bastar and it will not be privatized. But Jain claimed that the disinvestment of the Nagarnar Steel Plant under NMDC is ongoing.

Former MLA Rekhachand Jain said that the Congress party has always opposed privatisation and their demand has been that NMDC should not go into private hands so that the people here get employment and Bastar can develop. He said that the Congress’s fight will be taken forward with this objective.
