Raipur. In Chhattisgarh, Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg and Bastar divisions have been receiving continuous good rains for the last 3 days. So far, the least rainfall has been recorded in the Sarguja division. But now there is a possibility of good rains in the Sarguja division as well. The Meteorological Department has today issued a red alert for heavy rain in almost all the districts of the Sarguja division of the state. At the same time, a yellow alert for heavy rain has been issued in 20 districts of the state and an orange alert in 5 districts.

Alert issued in these districts

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain in Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, Bilaspur, Raigarh, Mungeli, Bastar, Dantewada, Bijapur, Sarangarh, Bilaigarh, Sakti and Janjgir districts of the state.

An orange alert for heavy rain has been issued in Surguja, Jashpur, Korea, Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur, and Korba districts. A red alert for heavy rain has been issued at one or two places in Surajpur and Balrampur districts.

On Friday, some districts including the capital received light rain and Balodabazar, Dantewada, Kanker, Mohla Manpur, Narayanpur, Sukma, Balod received good rain. Bijapur recorded the highest rainfall of 1406 mm. Surguja division received the least rainfall.

People and dozens of cattle were struck by lightning

On one hand, farmers are happy due to continuous good rains in the state, while on the other hand, rivers and streams are overflowing. Cases of cattle and people getting struck by lightning have come to light at many different places. In Balrampur, a mother and son died after being struck by lightning while working in the field.

On Saturday morning, 5 girls planting saplings in the field in Sogda village of Jashpur district were struck by lightning. However, all the girls were immediately admitted to the hospital for treatment, after which the condition of all five girls is normal. On the other hand, the havoc of lightning was seen in Bartikala and Lurgikala of Balrampur district, where dozens of cattle died due to lightning along with heavy rain, including cows, goats and buffaloes.
