A meeting was held in the DRM office between the MPs of parliamentary constituencies falling under Raipur Railway Division and railway officials of South East Central Railway regarding the development of railway system and railway infrastructure. In the meeting, various issues of railway development were discussed in detail and it was decided to prepare a proposal for the improvement of railway infrastructure. During the meeting, Raipur MP Brijmohan Agarwal, Durg MP Vijay Baghel, Bastar MP Mahesh Kashyap, Kanker MP Bhojraj Nag, Rajya Sabha MP Ranjita Ranjan put forward demands for their respective parliamentary constituencies. Raipur MP Brijmohan Agarwal asked to remove the delay in trains and to restore the cancelled trains as soon as possible. So that passengers do not face any problem. Durg MP Vijay Baghel said that “Our primary concern is how to make rail facilities reach the general public conveniently and on time. Expansion of rail facilities in Bastar and North Vananchal areas was also discussed.”
MP Baghel also stressed that new surveys and projects should be prepared only after consultation with MPs. Speaking on the demands of the employees, he said, “We are happy that the employees have faith in us, their demands will be fulfilled. The promises made by the previous government are now being fulfilled by the Modi government. Employees and officers should get their rights.” On the negative impact on the image of the government and the strike of the employees, he said, “The strike is natural, their problems should be heard seriously and a solution should be found by holding a meeting.”
Congress Rajya Sabha MP Ranjita Ranjan gave important suggestions during a discussion with the media after the meeting. She said that Chhattisgarhi cuisine should be promoted in the railways so that passengers can experience the local taste. Along with this, it was also suggested to promote food items made from millets. Ranjita Ranjan said, “This will give the passengers a taste of Chhattisgarhi cuisine and our local food will get recognition at the national level.”
On behalf of the railway officials, Senior DCM Awadhesh Kumar Trivedi said that this was the 18th annual meeting between the Members of Parliament and the zone divisional officials. The main objective of this meeting is to find solutions to the suggestions and problems related to the public. Necessary proposals for railway development will be prepared and sent forward, so that further improvements can be made in the railway facilities in the future.
