Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Tokhan Sahu has expressed his commitment to realising the vision of the grand Mahamaya Temple Corridor in Ratanpur, Chhattisgarh. Echoing the monumental developments seen in Ayodhya, Kashi and Mahakal, the minister has pledged similar transformation for the eleventh-century Mahamaya temple.

Sahu called a meeting with the officials of National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC) at Nirman Bhawan today on September 13, 2024. K.P. Mahadevaswamy, CMD (NBCC), R.N. Shina, CGM (NBCC) were present in the meeting along with their team and briefed the minister about the detailed plan.

Earlier, respecting the faith of crores of people of the state, the minister had demanded the construction of a corridor in Ratanpur and met Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. He said that the Mahamaya temple of Ratanpur is very important from a historical and cultural point of view. The minister said, “Our aim is to develop this holy place in such a way that its rich history is respected and its image is enhanced across the country.”

NBCC submitted a development plan for the Mahamaya Temple Corridor. And to ensure that the grandeur of the temple matches its amenities, the development plan proposes the following:

● Extensive infrastructure development: Jyoti Room, Bhagwat Stage, Prayer Hall, Office, Museum etc.

● Improved amenities for visitors: Enhanced accessibility with hotels, shops, and multiple parking areas.

The minister’s vision is to elevate the Mahamaya temple as a major spiritual destination. The initiative aims to not only preserve the historic temple but also provide a revitalized and enriching experience to the visitors. This will give a huge boost to religious tourism in the state.
