But the cheque given by the minister turned out to be a dummy. The farmers, who are upset over not getting the compensation amount even after a long time, have appealed to the collector. Kosamahi dam was constructed in 2012, due to which hundreds of acres of land came in the submerged area. During the Congress rule, the then minister Premsai Singh Tekam distributed demo cheques to the land owners on 2 April 2023. But till now the farmers have not received the compensation amount.

In this case, Manbodh Singh, a resident of Gram Panchayat Girwani, says that last year, former minister Premsai Singh called him to a program and gave him a cheque, which has not been paid till now. Looking at our lands, we are still wandering from door to door for the money.

Land of 22 people was acquired

Sukhdev Ram, a resident of Girwani, said that the land of about 22 people was acquired, but even today many of them are wandering for compensation. My land was also acquired for the construction of the dam. I was called to Wadrafnagar and a dummy cheque was also given to me by the former minister, but the money has not been paid till date.

Full compensation amount will be given

In the whole matter, Collector Rimijiyush Ekka said that the complaint has come to my notice. The matter is of Wadrafnagar development block. A complete investigation will be conducted to find out how many farmers’ land has been acquired, along with this, the full compensation amount will also be given to the concerned beneficiaries.
