The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has sanctioned the Shahberi Flyover project, marking a positive step towards reducing traffic congestion for commuters in the Ghaziabad and Greater Noida areas. The GDA has authorized the construction of a 200-meter-long ramp on Ghaziabad land as a part of the flyover’s infrastructure. This project will play a crucial role in easing traffic flow, especially in Greater Noida West. The project faced delays due to clearance issues but has now been approved, allowing the Greater Noida administration to commence construction after receiving the green light from the Ghaziabad administration. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) and an Expression of Interest (EOI) are expected to be released shortly. Before construction begins, the relevant authorities will present a proposal to the government seeking budget approval, funding allocation, and the selection of a construction firm. A comprehensive feasibility study conducted by IIT Roorkee assessed the project’s viability, considering factors like traffic patterns, flyover length, soil conditions, and potential construction challenges. The flyover’s design includes a width exceeding 7.5 meters. The flyover is strategically located at the intersection of Greater Noida, Noida, and Ghaziabad, designed to mitigate traffic issues in the Greater Noida West region. The Shahberi Flyover project also incorporates plans to cover a drainage channel in Crossing Republic, Ghaziabad, ensuring seamless traffic movement upon exiting the flyover.
