Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a significant visit to Manipur on September 13, his first trip to the state since the 2023 ethnic violence. The visit to Churachandpur involved interactions with local residents, including gift exchanges of traditional shawls. The Prime Minister also inaugurated the Bairabi-Sairang New Rail line in Mizoram and launched express trains, including routes to Delhi, Guwahati, and Kolkata. A series of development projects were initiated in Churachandpur, with investments surpassing Rs 7,300 crore. These initiatives include improvements to roads, drainage, national highway projects, and the Manipur Infotech Development (MIND) project. Speaking to the people, Modi praised their bravery and resilience. He described the challenges faced by the region while expressing optimism for a future filled with hope and trust. Modi’s address followed meetings with those affected by the ongoing unrest, reinforcing his commitment to support and development.
