In his 127th ‘Mann Ki Baat’ broadcast, Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the cultural richness of India, starting with wishes for Chhath Puja. He described the festival as a beautiful example of national social unity, noting the festive atmosphere with ‘thekua’ preparation and lively markets. The dedication of women observing the Chhath fast was particularly praised as inspiring.
The address also marked the approach of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 150th birth anniversary. Prime Minister Modi paid homage to Patel as a towering figure in modern Indian history, highlighting his active role in the freedom struggle under Gandhiji’s influence and his impactful work in the Kheda and Borsad Satyagrahas. Modi stressed Patel’s commitment to cleanliness and good governance during his time with the Ahmedabad Municipality. To commemorate the occasion, he called upon citizens to join the ‘Run For Unity’ on October 31st.
An interesting segment was dedicated to coffee, with a special mention of Koraput coffee from Odisha. Modi spoke about its excellent taste and the positive impact of coffee cultivation on the livelihoods of people in Koraput. He highlighted the global appreciation for Indian coffee, attributing its success to the passion of the growers.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister emphasized the vital role of trees and plants, referencing ancient scriptures to underscore their benefits. He encouraged everyone to plant trees and actively promote the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative. The success of ‘Operation Sindoor’ in eradicating Maoist influence was also celebrated as a significant achievement for national pride and security.
