The Mansa Devi temple in Haridwar witnessed a devastating stampede on Sunday, leading to a grim rise in the death toll to 8. Reports from the District Administration indicate that 30 people were injured in the incident. The injured were quickly transported to hospitals for treatment. The SDRF and fire brigade teams responded immediately to manage the situation and rescue those affected. The stampede took place during a surge of devotees heading towards the temple. One witness recounted the chaos and loss of control that led to the incident. Mahant Ravindra Puri, President of the Mansa Devi Temple Trust, mentioned the various routes available to reach the temple and assured assistance to the victim’s families. The temple has now been reopened, with safety measures in place.
