In the ongoing investigation into the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi, his brother, Vipin Raghuvanshi, has requested a CBI probe. He believes that a leaked phone conversation implicates Sonam Raghuvanshi’s family in the murder, which occurred during their honeymoon in Meghalaya. Police reports state that Sonam planned the murder along with Raj Kushwaha and three hired individuals; Raja’s body was discovered in a ravine in Sohra. Vipin has criticized the Meghalaya police for their handling of the case, particularly the bail granted to some of the accused. He referenced a reported call recording alleging Sonam’s communication with her family from jail, a claim her family disputes. Vipin accuses Sonam’s family of influencing the legal proceedings related to her bail. The East Khasi Hills Court has recently granted bail to Silom James, who was charged with tampering with evidence and helping Sonam and Raj. Two other accused, Lokendra Singh Tomar and Balbir Ahirwa, also received bail earlier. Sonam, Raj Kushwaha, and the three alleged killers remain in judicial custody.
