Modi and Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef discussed crucial aspects such as technology, infrastructure, and climate change. Modi’s visit was in response to President Mohamed Muizzu’s invitation for the 60th Independence Day celebrations. At a banquet, PM Modi spoke about the deep historical connection between India and the Maldives, emphasizing their status as neighbors, partners, and friends. President Muizzu recognized India as a key partner, praising the ongoing collaboration in areas from security to education. Eight agreements were finalized, encompassing financial, fisheries, digital, and payment system sectors.
