On the occasion of Hul Diwas, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the heroes of the Santhal Revolution. Modi acknowledged the contributions of Sido-Kanhu, Chand-Bhairav, and Phoolo-Jhano, remembering their fight against foreign domination. In a message on social media, he celebrated the tribal community’s bravery and the importance of the Santhal Revolution. Modi honored the courageous individuals who sacrificed their lives, stating that their valor would continue to inspire the nation. Hul Kranti Diwas, observed on June 30, honors the revolutionaries who opposed British rule. The day marks the 1855 revolt, where tribal leaders Sidhu-Kanho and Chand-Bhairav led a large demonstration against oppressive practices. Simultaneously, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey condemned the Jharkhand government, claiming an attack on Sido Kano’s descendants during Hul Diwas. He accused the government of targeting civilians and questioned their respect for tribal families who contributed to India’s freedom.
