Mohan Bhagwat, the head of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, marked his 75th birthday on Thursday. He has been serving as the guiding force of the RSS for the last 16 years. Born in Chandrapur, Maharashtra, on September 11, 1950, Bhagwat holds the distinction of being the third longest-serving Sarsanghchalak in the history of the RSS. His journey with the organization began as a pracharak nearly 50 years ago, and he assumed the role of Sarsanghchalak in March 2009. His father, Madhukarrao Bhagwat, was also a devoted pracharak of the RSS.
