Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) experienced rain on Monday, leading to cooler conditions. The IMD anticipates heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in multiple states, including Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and parts of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. The formation of a low-pressure area over Gangetic West Bengal is contributing to widespread showers. The monsoon’s impact is significant, particularly in the hills, where landslides have caused loss of life. The weather agency has issued red and orange alerts in numerous states, advising residents to be cautious. Warnings are in place for intense rain in Northwest, West Coast, and Northeast India for the next week. Additionally, Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Uttar Pradesh are likely to see heavy rain. The IMD also forecasts rain in South Interior Karnataka, Kerala & Mahe, Coastal Karnataka, and Telangana during specific dates in July. Residents are urged to stay informed and take precautions.
