A series of unfortunate events marked the day as five people drowned in the Godavari River in Nirmal district, Telangana. The victims, hailing from Hyderabad, were part of a larger group from Rajasthan that had come to Basar for a pilgrimage and holy bath. The depth of the river proved treacherous for the bathers. Meanwhile, in Maharashtra, an old bridge over the Indrayani River near Kundamala village in Pune district collapsed, leading to a significant rescue effort. Authorities believe that people may be trapped in the debris. Rescue teams, including the NDRF, local police, and fire brigade, are actively involved in the search and rescue operation. The Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis has confirmed that an incident occurred and that emergency services are at the scene.
