A recent breakdown of the Mumbai Monorail highlighted infrastructure concerns following heavy rainfall. The monorail, carrying numerous passengers, experienced a breakdown between Mysore Colony and Bhakti Park stations. The incident triggered chaos, with passengers enduring discomfort due to the lack of air conditioning and lighting. The incident has raised questions about the reliability of the 3000 crore project. The Mumbai Monorail, which commenced operations on February 2, 2014, was inaugurated by the then Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan. It was designed to ease traffic congestion and connect with local trains and the metro. However, it has been observed that the monorail has been operating with fewer passengers than anticipated, carrying only 15,000-20,000 daily, despite the massive investment.
