Excitement is building for the 2027 Nashik Simhastha Kumbh Mela with the launch of ‘KumbhDoot’, an AI-driven guide that earned accolades from spiritual luminary Bhakti Charan Das at the India AI Impact Summit 2026. Designed to provide on-the-spot digital support to devotees, it heralds a tech-savvy twist to ancient rituals.
Chatting with media on Sunday, Das underscored its novelty. ‘Nashik’s upcoming Kumbh is pioneering AI integration via KumbhDoot,’ he noted. Users will get instant access to maps, alerts, and services on mobiles, simplifying logistics in the vast mela grounds.
Das appreciated its practicality for holy men and visitors. ‘It’s excellent for linking to tents, safety setups, and facilities effortlessly,’ he affirmed. Such advancements, he said, reflect India’s evolving tech landscape benefiting sacred events periodically.
Mindful of heritage, Das drew boundaries. ‘Link Kumbh with AI by all means, but protect our revered traditions of gurus and sages,’ he advised. Faith practices must stay intact, with AI serving as an enhancer for ease, not an intruder.
He extended heartfelt thanks to Bharat Mandapam, CM Devendra Fadnavis, and Nashik officials. ‘Their participation inspires confidence in our preparations,’ Das observed. Poised to benefit all, KumbhDoot will elevate the 2027 spectacle into a model of progressive piety.
