Vajpayee, who passed away on August 16, 2018, at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) after a prolonged illness, was a significant figure in Indian politics. He served as Prime Minister multiple times, with his birthday being celebrated as ‘Good Governance Day’. He was also awarded the Bharat Ratna. President Murmu paid respects at the ‘Sadaiv Atal’ memorial, while Prime Minister Modi offered floral tributes and remembered Vajpayee’s contributions on social media. The Prime Minister highlighted Vajpayee’s commitment to the progress of India, emphasizing his inspiration in building a developed and self-reliant nation.
