Today marks the start of ‘Shakti Samvad’, the National Commission for Women’s (NCW) landmark interactive summit with State Women’s Commissions (SWCs) at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Spanning Thursday and Friday, this capacity-building extravaganza is designed to fortify collaborations and amplify women’s empowerment efforts nationwide.
By promoting synergy, exchanging proven models, and upskilling state entities, the forum addresses core challenges in rights protection. As the third such national event in a year—after Ayodhya and Mumbai—it reflects NCW’s steadfast push for cooperative federalism.
All-state participation ensures a holistic dialogue. The event launches with Delhi CM Rekha Gupta’s address, the debut of ‘SafarNama’ featuring NCW insiders’ tales, and accolades for ‘Stay Safe Online’ poster winners, spotlighting online safety.
In-depth talks will cover superior handling of grievances and inquiries, tech upgrades for data and helplines, state law evaluations, and enhanced NCW-SWC legal teamwork. Priorities include accelerating child marriage elimination, district-level hearing strategies, and innovation swaps among commissions.
‘Far beyond a mere assembly, it’s our joint commitment,’ affirmed Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar. ‘Together, we achieve seamless coordination, rapid responses, and solutions rooted in reality—essential for laws to truly empower the last mile.’
This powerhouse meet is set to conclude with actionable commitments, weaving a robust tapestry of support for women’s rights, security, and respect across India.
