Speculation over Bihar’s next Chief Minister intensified as LJP (Ram Vilas) activists unveiled posters championing Chirag Paswan, drawing a balanced rebuttal from Sugarcane Minister Sanjay Paswan. During a Patna press interaction on March 9, the senior leader from Chirag’s party struck a tone of deference and discipline.
The bold messaging – ‘Bihar ka CM sirf Chirag ho, na danga na fasaad ho’ – appeared prominently near BJP offices, reflecting sustained cadre enthusiasm. Sanjay Paswan nodded to this energy: ‘All workers express their heartfelt sentiments, which we duly honor.’ But he was unequivocal: ‘At present, Nitish Kumar holds the Chief Minister position.’
Looking ahead, he deferred to protocol: ‘Future steps will be charted in the NDA conclave, and we’ll greet their decision with open arms.’ He advocated restraint: ‘Gains from top-tier consensus trump individual preferences in our alliance.’ This unfolds against Nitish’s recent Rajya Sabha move, fueling change narratives.
Commenting on Nishant’s JD(U) integration, Paswan viewed it as pragmatic politics. Bihar’s political theater now pivots on these murmurs, with Chirag’s advocates testing waters while leaders like Sanjay reinforce hierarchy. As NDA gears for deliberations, the Chirag factor looms large, promising shifts in the state’s governance narrative.
