Rakesh Kumar Singh, the Chief Executive Officer of Noida International Airport Ltd. (NIAL), inspected the airport on Wednesday. The inspection covered ongoing projects like the terminal building, the runway, and the Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower. Singh also reviewed the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) and the water treatment plant. He confirmed that the entire construction process is scheduled to be finished by September. The STP and the water treatment plant are almost ready, with the equipment expected to arrive by July. At the Environment Management Committee meeting, District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma addressed aircraft safety concerns. He initiated strict measures against unauthorized constructions within a 10-kilometer area around the airport. Verma stated that it’s crucial to control the presence of birds and animals near the airport. The DM mandated that departmental officers conduct monthly inspections of the airport’s vicinity and provide progress reports. He also ordered the formation of a survey team to identify and take action against structures that lack the necessary No Objection Certificates (NOCs). Emphasis was also placed on preventing unauthorized use of laser emitters and drone activities for promotional purposes, with a focus on extensive outreach in rural locations.
