The incidents include a gang-rape in the Karanjai area of Mayurbhanj district, the arrest of ten men in connection with a gang-rape at Gopalpur beach, the death of a 17-year-old girl in Keonjhar district with suspected sexual assault, a gang-rape of a 31-year-old woman in Mayurbhanj, and the alleged rape of a 17-year-old by a clinic owner in Berhampur. The recent surge in cases has ignited public debate and concern among political figures. The state government is under pressure to address the concerning trend and implement measures to ensure the safety and security of its female population. Lawmakers are calling for immediate action to address the rising crime rate.
