Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has asserted that the biggest constituent of the INDIA alliance bears the primary responsibility for reinforcing the coalition. Abdullah highlighted the absence of post-election meetings among the alliance partners as a matter of concern. “This responsibility belongs to the biggest partner of the INDIA Alliance,” Abdullah declared. He pointed out that the last meeting took place at Mallikarjun Kharge’s residence immediately following the elections. Addressing the issue of statehood for Jammu and Kashmir, Abdullah voiced the region’s desire to revert to its state status. He underscored the perceived injustice of its current status as a Union Territory and urged the central government to fulfill its commitment to restore statehood. Concerning the Supreme Court’s decision regarding the ECI’s actions on electoral rolls in Bihar, Abdullah deferred to the court’s judgment and expressed his support for holding elections to uphold the democratic process.
