Asaduddin Owaisi, the leader of AIMIM, questioned the societal reaction to expressions of love for Prophet Mohammad, contrasting it with the acceptance of similar statements for Modi. This statement was made in the context of unrest in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, following protests over the ‘I Love Mohammad’ posters. The local authorities had shut down internet services in four districts of the Bareilly division. The streets were heavily patrolled by security forces on Thursday, coinciding with the Dussehra festivities and the upcoming Friday prayers.
