Residents of Mohan Garden can breathe easier after Delhi Police dismantled a mobile snatching duo’s operation, arresting one member and seizing the robbed gadget. The case resolution showcases exemplary police work amid surging street-level thefts.
The drama ignited via a late-night PCR call on February 23-24, flagging a phone grab in Mohan Garden. ASI Murali Singh mobilized his unit, diving into evidence collection at the site.
Abhijeet, 19, from Gurudwara Road, described the ordeal: en route home, he was targeted by two motorcycle riders at Metro Pillar 749 on Najafgarh-Uttam Nagar Road. They bolted to Uttam Nagar post-theft, leading to an FIR at the local station.
ASI Murali Singh’s team—HCs Jitendra, Rakesh, and Dharmendra—pored over 150 CCTV footages from key locales including Dabri, Uttam Nagar, Bindapur, and Dwarka North. Inspector Mukesh Antil managed oversight, with inputs from Prakash Kumar Singh. Secret sources triggered pinpoint raids.
Nagesh, 21, of Dabri, was collared with the incriminating phone. Interrogation spilled details of his alliance with Jafar alias Sahil and his track record, featuring at least one prior snatch and other involvements.
With the net tightening on the fugitive, police probe extends to potential accomplices. This bust reinforces Delhi Police’s zero-tolerance policy, urging citizens to report suspicious activities promptly.
