The Bombay High Court has decided to maintain the ban on pigeon feeding areas in Dadar, Mumbai. The court emphasized the importance of citizens’ health in its decision. It also warned against defying the court’s orders. The court stated that if anyone objects to the ruling, they have the option to appeal through legal channels without disregarding the court’s decision. With the High Court upholding the ban, the Jain community, which had protested the initial decision, now has the option to approach the Supreme Court. The core issue revolves around the BMC’s decision to close the pigeon feeding areas. The Jain community protested on August 4th demanding the reopening of these areas, citing health concerns related to pigeon droppings and feathers, as well as alleging a conspiracy to encroach on land.
