Following the end of the Monsoon Session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his regret regarding the frequent disruptions that marred proceedings in both houses of Parliament. He seemingly directed criticism at the Congress leadership, suggesting they were preventing younger MPs from taking on prominent roles due to perceived ‘insecurity.’ The Prime Minister’s statements were made during a meeting held at Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla’s office. The Monsoon Session, which spanned 32 days with 21 sittings, saw the passage of 15 bills. However, the opposition frequently protested over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, leading to several legislative items being passed without proper debate. The session concluded a day earlier than planned, with the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha adjourning sine die. Discussions on Operation Sindoor and the space program faced interruptions due to opposition demands.
