Political sparks flew in Bengaluru as CM Siddaramaiah launched a blistering attack on PM Narendra Modi’s Sunday speech, calling it a stark reveal of Union government flops. His Monday press release posed a core question: In what capacity did Modi speak—as PM, BJP Karnataka head, or opposition figure?

Siddaramaiah urged the PM to dispel the ensuing ‘confusion.’ Modi’s barbs at the state Congress fell flat, instead spotlighting central BJP’s pitfalls and the PM’s impotence in reviving state BJP.

The CM lambasted Modi for cheapening the PM’s office with speeches dripping lies, malice, and resentment—unlike the statesmanlike approaches of Nehru, Indira Gandhi, and Vajpayee.

During the visit, Modi stayed in perpetual election gear, Siddaramaiah observed. He ridiculed appeals to stint on fuel use, edible oils, and gold, undermining vows of trillion-dollar growth and poverty banishment.

‘Whose progress is this?’ he queried. Escalating prices reflect foreign policy chaos, tangling India in global conflicts. Moral fortitude from the center would have prevented such woes, per the CM.

With elections looming, this spat highlights economic grievances fueling opposition fire. Siddaramaiah’s riposte seeks to reframe the narrative, positioning Congress against perceived central neglect.
