Prayagraj police have arrested Sharan Singh, a property dealer, in connection with the gruesome murder of his 17-year-old grand-nephew. The victim was allegedly dismembered, with body parts found in different locations. The investigation indicates that Singh was acting under the influence of a tantric, aiming to overcome personal hardships. Singh confessed to the crime, according to authorities, and is assisting in the search for the tantric. Singh’s confession revealed that he was seeking solutions after the deaths of his children, who died by suicide, and his brother. The occultist reportedly told Singh that his grand-nephew was supposed to die instead of his children and suggested a killing to resolve his issues. The victim, Piyush, was a student who disappeared after going to school. The discovery of the body parts, including a torso in a drain and the head later, allowed for the identification of the body. The police investigation used witness statements and CCTV footage to tie Singh to the crime, eventually leading to his arrest. The police are actively pursuing the tantric.
