Panic was averted today at Sirhind Railway Station in Punjab when a fire broke out on the Amritsar-Saharsa Express, also known as Garib Rath (Train No. 12204). The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 AM, with smoke being detected in one of the coaches. Railway personnel swiftly responded by moving all passengers to safety in other parts of the train. Firefighters arrived on the scene and managed to contain and extinguish the blaze before it could spread to adjacent coaches. Official reports indicate no injuries or fatalities resulted from the fire. While the origin of the fire is still being probed, the train is anticipated to depart for Saharsa after all necessary safety protocols have been observed.
