Alexander Laloo Hek, Meghalaya’s Minister, has characterized the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case as a meticulously planned and executed crime. The court has granted the police eight days of custody for the five individuals implicated, including Sonam Raghuvanshi. Minister Hek reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring that the accused are brought to justice under the law. He welcomed the apology from Raja Raghuvanshi’s family, who had initially expressed anger towards the authorities. Hek commended the Meghalaya police for their successful investigation and highlighted the significance of the recovered evidence, specifically a mangalsutra and ring found in Sonam Raghuvanshi’s suitcase. The victim, Raja Raghuvanshi, was recently married and on his honeymoon in Meghalaya when the crime occurred. His body was later discovered in a gorge at Sohra near Cherrapunji.
