Kolkata’s Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) received a clarion call from Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to revolutionize shipbuilding with futuristic tech, cementing its place in India’s journey to becoming a developed powerhouse by 2047.
Speaking directly to the heart of the workforce and families, Singh underscored the tech revolution’s demand for GRSE to deliver unparalleled platforms. ‘Align with this era to craft ships that redefine excellence, fulfilling the Viksit Bharat dream under PM Modi,’ he exhorted.
Singh’s tribute to GRSE chronicled its enduring impact: empowering Navy and Coast Guard with battle-ready ships that protect seas and fuel blue economy growth, etching an indelible mark in national history.
Poignantly, he portrayed each vessel as crystallized sweat of laborers, sparks of engineerly genius, technician finesse, and homeland loyalty. Elevating staff to nation-forgers, he marveled at their skill-fueled triumphs.
Facing new hurdles in tech and markets, Singh pledged: ‘Your dedication ensures GRSE’s ascent as a shipbuilding star on the world stage.’
Lively cultural displays by families were hailed by Singh as a vibrant tapestry of India’s diverse heritage and oneness. Notable presence included GRSE head Commodore P R Hari (Retd.) and defence brass.
