Baba Ramdev’s visit to Ayodhya doubled as a platform to address the Swami Avimukteshwaranand imbroglio at Prayagraj Magh Mela. “Enough enemies target Sanatan—those Islamizing society, those plotting Ghazwa-e-Hind. Don’t add to their glee with brotherly brawls,” the Patanjali founder urged.
Post-mela snan, Ramdev advocated restraint for spiritual leaders. “Shankaracharyas are divine; they mustn’t court controversy. Tirthas demand serenity, free of bathing or procession quarrels.”
The trigger: January 17’s Mauni Amavasya at Sangam. Swami Avimukteshwaranand, in full regalia atop his palanquin with followers, was halted by police enforcing no-vehicle rules. Accusations of bias flew, culminating in the Shankaracharya’s defiant sit-in.
True sanctity lies in humility, Ramdev preached. “Sadhus erase ego through endured dishonor. Pride has no place in sanyas.”
In Ayodhya, he recommitted to Dharma’s essence. “Beyond words, Sanatan shapes life. We pledge Ram bhakti’s maryada path.”
Ramdev cherished his mela moments. “Prayagraj, pilgrimage pinnacle, buzzes with mela tapasya. Puja here granted celestial joy,” he shared with media.
Amid rising communal tensions, Ramdev’s plea resonates: Forge unity, sideline divisions, fortify Sanatan against existential perils.
