Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Champai Soren, will protest the land acquisition for the proposed RIMS-2 hospital in Ranchi. He plans to plough the land and plant paddy, as a form of protest. The administration has implemented Section 144 in the area, and deployed heavy security, including three layers of barricading, to manage the situation.
The protest is in response to the alleged non-compliance with land acquisition laws, including the 2013 land acquisition act, the CNT Act, and village assembly regulations. Thousands of villagers are expected to join the protest.
The fencing work for the proposed RIMS-2 in Nagri, Kanke has been completed. However, there is concern that people are gathering at the site and that anti-social elements may try to enter the fencing and disturb law and order.
