Bhopal witnessed a strong pro-farmer stance on Wednesday as Chief Minister Mohan Yadav positioned agricultural empowerment at the pinnacle of Madhya Pradesh’s priorities. In his address, Yadav vowed comprehensive support to elevate farmer incomes and shield their interests amid evolving market dynamics.
Timely, unobstructed payments for crops are non-negotiable. This resolve shone through in Kharif 2025-26’s procurement of 51.74 million metric tons of paddy, validating the state’s policy prowess.
Leveraging technology, MSP is credited directly to accounts, with this season’s rate for regular paddy at Rs 2,369 per quintal—Rs 69 higher than last season’s Rs 2,300, ensuring fair market value.
Prior year’s procurement involved 669,272 farmers contributing 43.2 million metric tons across 1,436 sites. Escalating volumes this time reached 5.17 million metric tons acquired, over 4.83 million metric tons transported, and 4.63 million metric tons quality-passed.
The Rs 12,259 crore payout projection has Rs 11,000 crore realized, empowering farmers for robust next-season preparations. Ongoing vigilance guarantees smooth operations and swift access to aid.
Yadav’s blueprint heralds a new dawn for MP’s farms, merging massive scale, digital innovation, and policy foresight to cultivate enduring rural prosperity and national food security.
