According to Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport and Highways, improved road infrastructure has led to a six percent decrease in India’s logistics costs, falling from a previous 16 percent. The minister credited this reduction to the initiatives under the Narendra Modi-led NDA government. He underscored the importance of infrastructure development in realizing the Prime Minister’s vision to position India as a global leader and to achieve a $5 trillion economy. Gadkari noted that lower logistics costs will enhance India’s export capabilities, stimulating growth in multiple sectors. He compared India’s past logistics challenges to those of China, the US, and European countries and detailed the efforts underway to bring down costs further. The minister also projected that, with ongoing developments, India’s road infrastructure will soon match the standards seen in the United States, reinforcing the government’s commitment to infrastructure investment.
