Bhopal’s political air crackled on Monday as MP Minister Vishwas Sarang unleashed a barrage against Congress, accusing them of chronic anti-Hindu stance culminating in the bizarre distribution of Islamic Hijri calendars. ‘Appeasement has no limits for Congress,’ he thundered.
In a pointed media briefing, Sarang laid bare the inconsistencies. ‘Congress derides Sanatan Dharma, Hindu thought, festivals, and saints. What’s the agenda behind Hijri calendars? Where’s their equivalent support for Hindu events?’
He mocked their opportunistic Hinduism—janeu displays at election rallies masking backstage Muslim coddling. ‘BJP’s religious programs draw their “extremism” cries, but Congress’s calendar giveaway is blatant pro-Muslim signaling.’
The Ram Mandir saga was next: Congress’s court denial of Ram’s existence versus calendar handouts. ‘This isn’t harmony; it’s calculated minority wooing that wounds Hindu pride,’ Sarang declared.
Congress’s duplicity, he argued, stands naked before voters who won’t forget.
The flashpoint: Narela MLA hopeful Manoj Shukla’s 50,000 Hijri calendars to the area’s 28% Muslim base (1 lakh+ voters). Amid Congress’s ‘love and unity’ spin, BJP brands it a dangerous flirtation with fundamentalism.
